Our Curriculum

The school offers a blend of Nigerian and British curriculum, a pupil centred, world­­-class education enhanced through e-learning to make the learner the best he or she could be.  We make learning go beyond the classroom, connecting it to real life activities.

LITERACY

NURSERY:

Literacy lessons teach the pupils to apply the spoken English in their written and daily communication.

*learn to write the alphabet in lower and upper cases.

*communicate using simple sentences.

*have a rudimentary knowledge of diction and phonetics.

 

KNDERGARTIN

* write simple sentences.            *apply basic parts of speech.      *spell simple words up to eight letter words.                       *have a broader knowledge of diction and phonetics.

 

YEARS 1 - 5

* study all aspects of Literacy

- Grammar          - Comprehension             - Spelling              - Verbal reasoning           - Creative writing              - Poetry                 - Diction/Phonetics

*Boost pupils verbal communication and confidence skills.

 

NUMERACY

The Numeracy scheme enables the learners to apply mental and calculating skills, essential to daily life activities.

NURSERY.

* count from 0 – 200 serially and backwards.       * do simple calculation.                 * apply reasoning skills to calculation.

 

KINDERGARTEN.

* count to a thousand, serially and backwards.

* write numbers in words.           * do mental sums.           * apply quantitative skills.            * do simple sums in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

 

YEARS 1 – 5.

* acquire high mental and calculating skills           * do calculation, calculus, mensuration, etc          * make progressive preparation for secondary school.

 

SCIENCE:

This integrates and develops their enquiry and investigative skills, designed to meet the requirements of a Nigeria or British common entrance to the higher school.  Each level building on the other progressively.

Topics like:

* the body          * the climate      * the earth          * the world         * solar system   * animals (alive and extinct)                        * plants etc

 

FOUNDATIONAL SUBJECTS.

Our foundational subjects cover topics on different areas regarding daily existence.

NURSERY AND KINDERGARTEN.

The learners are introduced to:

* Health Habits                 * Social Norms                  * Moral Instructions.

 

PRIMARY.

It covers a range of subjects where Social Studies is broken into several units.

* History              * Geography      * Citizenship      * Design and Technology              * Moral Instructions.

 

INFORMATION COMMUNIATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

ICT is an integral and practical part of learning in the school.  Lessons are delivered using ICT beginning from the Nursery to the Primary, making the learner computer literate from an early age.  Each class is equipped with a desktop, and the tutor a laptop.

LANGUAGE

Languages offered to the learners are French, Chinese and Yoruba, with seasoned professional tutors.  The learners would be able to taught to communicate in the language effectively and fluently. 

FRENCH – Nursery to Year 5.

YORUBA – Kindergarten 2 to Year 5.

CHINESE – Kindergarten 2 to Year 5.

 

SPORTS

Sport coaches are on hand to bring out the interest and talent of learners.  Such games include:

EXTRACURRICULA ACTIVITIES

We engage pupils in a wide range of activities, giving the pupils a wider spectrum.  Different activities like:-
